This past Thursday I was involved with a stake leadership meeting with the Primary Leaders in my stake. I have such a testimony of these children who are coming now. They have such an understanding of the gospel. They have been saved for these latter days. Mormon was only 10 when Ammaron came to him and told him about the plates. These little ones will be called to do great things. Miracles will be brought to pass because of their faith and obedience. JT and Marta just had a little boy and Danny and Shanda will get one any day now. They are such precious spirits. Look into their eyes, you will see great things. In the Church News there is a story about a man named Israel Barlow. A few days before the martyrdom, Joseph Smith asked Israel to deliver a message to a certain man who lived a considerable distance away in a neighborhood of enemies. The Prophet told him to deliver the message and accept the hospitality which would be extended to him. Let them put your horse up of you and eat supper with them, but when it becomes sundown, saddle your horse and leave. They will be insisitent and try to persuade you to remain over-night. But if you value your life, do not stay, but leave, and listen to the direction of the Spirit. Israel did exactly as the Prophet asked. At sundown he left and started riding, as he come to a bridge a voice said to him to "ride faster", the voice repeated again, "ride faster". Again the voice came and said "Ride for your life". He then sped for all the animal's strength. It was then that he heard the mob behind him. Shortly after he crossed the bridge the voice instructed him to "turn to the right". Through the night he wound his way back to Nauvoo, and just as the day was breaking he stode into town. There he saw the Prophet Joseph walking up and down the street in front of his home. As Israel approached he began to tell the Prophet of his experience. The Prophet stopped him and told nim he need not tell him, for he already knew. The Prophet told him that he had been up all night waiting for his return and stated "I saw it all, you have no need to tell me". Then Joseph put his hand upon Israel's sholder and gave him a blessing and said 'thee and thine shall never want." We just had a Regional Stake Conference where it was stated that we should listen carefully to our now day Prophet and Apostles. I would pray that we could all be so exact in our obedience to want the blessing that we should not want. I am thankful for a latter day Prophet!!
